International Peoples Tribunal On Eviction Of Peasants And Violation Of Human Rights In Singur, Nandigram And Other Areas In West Bengal, India

A day long International Peoples Tribunal was organised by the joint initiative of above mass organisations and Civil Society organisations at the historic Calcutta University Institute Hall. In this tribunal about 5000 peasants were present from Singur, Nandigram, Haripur and other adjacent places of West Bengal.

The 9 members’ Judges Bench was comprised of retired High Court Judges from different states of India and eminent personalities of national and international civil society namely:

1) Justice P.D. Muley (MP)
2) Justice V.S. Dave (Rajasthan)
3) Justice J.C. Verma (Chandigarh)
4) Justice P.C. Jain (Rajasthan)
5) Justice Malay Sengupata (Sikkim)
6) Ms. Sarojeni Rengam (Malaysia)
7) Rep. Rafael Mariano (Philippines, Parliament)
8) Mr. Ashok Chaturvedi (Chattisgarh)
9) Dr. Amiya Kr. Samanta (Ex-DGP, West Bengal)
