The People’s Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS) condemns the killing of Abdul Karim, a peasant leader and President of Bangladesh Kishok Federation Bhurungamari (BKK) Sub-district Committee. We support the Bangladesh Krishok Federation in their calls for justice from the perpetrators of this crime.

FARMERS’ group Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) and the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) condemned the killing of Gilbert Paborada, a leader of Higaonon
indigenous tribe and chairperson of Pangalasag.
Paborada, 47, was shot dead Wednesday afternoon by unidentified assailants in Barangay Puntod, Cagayan de Oro. He succumbed to eight gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

BKFleader brutally killed in the morning of October 6, 2012.
“Abdul Karim, 63 years old is the President in Bhurungamari sub-district and a Central Committee member of BKF. He was murdered by Addur Rahim, allegedly employed by the local elites who have vested interest on the abandoned railway Khasland (unused land) occupied by Karim’s group in 2004 in northern Kurignam district,” stated Badrul Alam, BKF President and concurrent APC Vicechairperson for external affairs.
